INTUITIVE EATING & SELF-CARE

4-WEEK VIRTUAL SERIES

Upcoming Dates: May 12, 19, 26, and June 2, 2024

Food is nourishing and sustains us. But the act of eating can be complicated. So many factors influence our food choices and how we eat. We reach for food when we are bored, stressed, or feeling emotional. Our family upbringing influences the way we eat and think about food, dieting, and weight. And of course, we are constantly being bombarded by social media, the news, and magazines on the latest fad diet and reaching health / weight goals that may not be sustainable.

In this 4-week series, we will discuss all these factors, intuitive eating, and mindful eating. What it takes to change eating behaviors, and uncover why we eat the way we do. This experiential series will be dynamic. It will give you the opportunity to connect and form community, share your roadblocks and progress, and give you accountability to make sustainable, realist change from a place of non-judgment and compassion. We will not only focus on the physiology of nutrition and the body, but the psychology around why we do what we do. Forming deep understanding and behavior change.

The series will group discussion, content, exercises, mindfulness, and journaling. The container we create will be a safe, confidential space.

Week 1: An introduction to the concept of intuitive and mindful eating. We’ll review the body’s relationship with food & digestion, the nervous system, stress, and the guiding concepts of intuitive eating.

Week 2: Perception and belief systems around health, food, and self-care. Specifically, conditioning that we’ve received from our family and society. The exercises in this week will be geared around expanding our perception to hold new possibilities related to health, food, and self-care.

Week 3: Emotional eating and using food as a coping mechanism. We will take a deep dive into this session and review other possibilities to manage our emotions aside food.

Week 4: Developing self-compassion around health, food, and self-care. We will recap all 4 weeks, create an action plan, and provide tools for ongoing support.

*Limited to a small group of participants to form a safe space for learning and sharing. This space is a container for sharing the positive and challenging aspects related to our relationship with food and our bodies. This space is ideal if you can hold space to listen to other participants challenging moments, are working with a therapist, and enjoy group work.

TESTIMONIALS FROM THE SEPTEMBER 2021 INTUITIVE EATING SERIES

“I thoroughly enjoyed Krishna’s guiding through the group intuitive eating series. Food is such a relatable medium to discover things about one’s self. Trauma, healing, struggles, growth all can have ties to food. This series helped me connect more deeply with myself and appreciate the struggle and growth in others. There were several techniques taught to learn to be more intuitive and introspective, not only with food, but with one’s body and mind. I highly recommend it.”
— Augusta B., September 2021
“This series gave me the opportunity to learn about intuitive eating while also being able to connect with others in the course on their own struggles with food helped me in my journey with a kinder and gentler view of myself and food.”
— Arisa J., September 2021

TESTIMONIALS FROM THE APRIL 2021 INTUITIVE EATING SERIES

“My relationship with food has TRANSFORMED. And not in a gimmicky, reach-a-goal-quick kind of way but in a long lasting profound core way. The tools that Krishna brings to each student help to open the mind and the heart around food. Bringing my awareness back to my actual body and its feelings and not what my brain SAYS about my body/food has been so healing. Learning how to manage food reactions and where they come from has helped me feel incredibly empowered and compassionate towards myself and inner child.

Krishna has a warmth and lack of judgment combined with a deep understanding of the material that made it easy to trust her and the environment when I felt vulnerable. She makes me want to take any subject class from her due to her soothing and intelligent teaching style.

My body is happier, my digestion has improved because I’m eating differently (regardless of what the actual food is) and my mind is so much more peaceful and I genuinely enjoy food. And occasionally when an old behavior pops in to say hi, I say hi, acknowledge it and let it be instead of spiraling into many more old behaviors. I’m learning how to give myself back to my heart.”
— Marina B., April 2021
“I found many elements we discussed throughout the Intuitive Eating Series have carried with me weeks, months later; I’m frequently reminded of the exercises and tools we explored especially when purchasing, cooking or preparing food, and eating a meal or snack. I’m grateful for the expanded awareness about my complicated relationship with food and some mindful practices shared that will continue to empower me as I find a healthier connection with myself with less judgement and more intention to seek bliss.”
— Cat V, April 2021
“Krishna is a fantastic instructor, whether it’s yoga, meditation or mindful eating! or nutrition, or self-confidence! I could go on. If you need positive feels, tools to manage anxiety, an ego boost, or want to learn a new practice with zero judgment, Krishna is it.

I signed up for Krishna’s yoga class to help with feelings of anxiousness and depression due to the pandemic. I had never taken a yoga class before and krishna made me feel super comfortable and confident. No judgment. The group was welcoming and friendly. I always felt peaceful yet challenged just enough.

I enjoyed her class so much, I signed up for a second 8-weeks. And then her intuitive eating course. We meditated and practiced mindful eating. With a small group, we discussed our personal relationships with food, our anxieties, our trauma, our love of, and appreciation. It was a very intimate 4 weeks with my partner, Krishna and two not-so-strangers anymore. It was an inspiring and informative class that bettered my relationship with the food I love and feel guilty about at times.

I would love to stay in touch with everyone and look forward to the next go-around. <3 <3 <3 Thanks so much, Krishna!

(p.s.) she also has a fantastic podcast. “CHOOSE WELL” <3”

“I enrolled in the Intuitive Eating course and Krishna is a wonderful guide! She provides a safe and open space to explore all matters related to the relationship with self and how habits towards food are connected - from the physical body to family structures and how that translates into emotions and the choices we make. The tools introduced in this course really helped me shift my perspective in order to redefine my relationship with food. Well worth the time and the cost. I highly recommend her course.”

TESTIMONIALS FROM 2020 INTUITIVE EATING SERIES

“Krishna’s class was wonderful! It was so nice to have a safe space to talk about things with a small, supportive group of women. I would highly recommend this to anyone struggling with their relationship with food, but come prepared to go deep with it! She really considers the holistic experience and not just food, which is critical to making changes. Thank you Krishna!!”
— Laura W.
“Krishna attracted and lead a wonderful group of women in her recent intuitive eating workshop We all participate in deep sharing, exploring, and healing with Krishna’s guidance. Her meditations and journaling and discussion prompts are thoughtful and all-excepting. I felt warm and full-hearted after each gathering. It was a joy to be in the workshop.”
— Evi A.
“I signed up for Krishna’s Intuitive Eating Course as a way to “jumpstart” my mindfulness practice. During 2020, I felt like I had lost touch with my body and needed to reconnect with myself. I was not disappointed. Each session included thoughtful conversations, useful activities, introspection and support. Krishna offers a great balance between tactical tips for intuitive eating habits and broader, deeper discussion on internal and external structures that shape our relationship with food. I strongly recommend Krishna’s course!”
